“Gender Equality and the protection of Human Rights , especially of children and women are fundamental principles of the United Nations. Unfortunately these selected groups of persons suffer the most . In our communities most women suffer from Gender Based Violence; in schools and other areas children suffer from all forms of violence as a whole. It’s essential to mention that the effects are far reaching- they are not just physical but psychological and economical sometimes. As a result, the victims often shut down and can hardly live to their full potential.
At Chefusirri Foundation we take upon ourselves to educate women and children on their civic rights and obligations. Though we seek to empower them with the needed knowledge, we don’t leave out the men who in most reported cases are the perpetrators of these acts. We equally go ahead to defend them in court if need be because fortunately for us, we have many lawyers on our team.
Women are the main pillars in the society, children are our future; if we do not aid and guide them then they would be in a really bad place, hence our society as a whole.
We are committed to giving back to our society. We are crowning queens not just by building and empowering them, but building a better community by raising both the girls and boys right.”

Sexual abuse is very rarely reported and/or investigated even when reported particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. Most of these cases occur before age 24. Women and girls are at higher risk of being victims with at least 1 in 5 girls experiencing sexual violence during their college years.
