About The Chefu Sirri Foundation

We Are A Young Organization Based In Cameroon

The Chefu Sirri Foundation is a young organization based in Cameroon, officially registered on January 18, 2022. It was founded by Cameroonian Lawyer and Human Rights Activist, Barrister Chefu Sirri-Afanwi Joy. Joy’s personal experiences deeply inspired the foundation. Growing up, she was profoundly influenced by the selflessness and unwavering spirit of her two grandmothers and widowed mother. Despite the early loss of her father at age eight, his sense of responsibility also played a significant role in shaping her path. These formative years instilled in her a strong desire to help others, even when resources were scarce.
Her journey as a young lawyer further exposed her to the severe challenges faced by women, leading her to volunteer for women’s rights campaigns. This direct engagement highlighted the critical need for an organization like the Chefu Sirri Foundation. Today, the foundation is dedicated to reaching out to the community through sensitization campaigns on gender-based violence and providing direct assistance to women and girls whose rights have been violated.

Our core goals are Sensitization and Support!

We're dedicated to building a safer society for all women. This involves two key approaches: first, directly assisting victims and equipping women with the knowledge and tools to enhance their personal safety; second, educating men to foster greater awareness and accountability, recognizing their essential role in preventing harm. Together, we can create a world where all women feel safe and respected.
